Fairy Houses, Let`s make a enchanting craft for kids
Everyone loves Fairies
We’ve all grown up with stories of the Tooth Fairy and the Fairy Godmother, with film and literature turning a number of fairies into popular household names from Tinkerbell to Thumbelina and even the ‘evil’ fairy Maleficent.
Fairy Folklore
Most of us think of Fairies as tiny creatures, flitting about on gossamer wings, waving a magic wand, but history and folklore tell a different tale.
When belief in fairies was common most people didn’t like to mention them by name and so referred to them by little people or the hidden people.
While the word fairy is derived from old French there is no exact source to trace these creatures back throughout the history to pinpoint a specific believe that Fairies were pagan deities forced to suppress their traditions by Christian missionaries.
Fairies Were Popular With the Victorians
The Victorians era saw a massive growth in the interest in fairies as a subject for literature and art.
Whimsy has well and truly begun to creep into fairies into Victorian art and culture, and it`s around this time we see the addition of wings.
But it was still a long way from the fairies of Disney movies, and children`s stories.
Fairy Houses
But of course Fairies need somewhere to live, that`s why I designed these adorable cute easy to print off, cut out, colour/color in and make.
These set of four fun designs of Fairies houses are full downloadable and printable

Step-by-Step Guide to Crafting Your Fairy House
Now that you’ve gathered your materials, let’s dive right into the crafting process:
- Download and print off your Fairy House templates from Greenpixiedesigns
- Add a splash of colour to your Fairy House Templates or leave them plain for a natural look.
- Use your glue to secure the tag of the house and bend it around to touch the other end on the underside.
- Stick them together to form a circular shape.
- Bend the tags on the top of the house backwards.
- Next, grab the roof template and glue the edges together and stick them. This forms the roof of your Fairy House.
- Lastly, apply glue on the tags of the house and place your roof over the top. Press the tags on the house onto the underneath of the roof to secure it.
- Voila! Your Fairy House is complete. Repeat the process for the remaining three fairy houses.
